The Story: This is a documentary about the riots in Stonewall in 1969. A good overall picture of how gays and lesbians were treated back then, as mentally ill individuals. This leads up to the riots and the gay rights movement that followed. Interviews are conducted with people who were involved in the riots, including gay men, a police officer and lesbians. Clips are shown from television specials done in 1967 that indicate gays are mentally ill and chose this way of life. No live footage of the actual riot is shown, but there are pictures and narratives of the aftermath.
